Matt Stolz was named the fifth head coach in Queens women's volleyball program history in April of 2025.
Stolz brings a championship pedigree and over eight years of collegiate coaching experience, including the last five seasons as an assistant at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO), where he helped guide the Redhawks to an Ohio Valley Conference Championship and multiple postseason appearances.
Stolz played a vital role in SEMO's rise to conference prominence, contributing to a 96-51 overall record during his tenure. His time there included a 2021 OVC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance, a 2024 OVC Championship, and consistent top finishes in the league. He also coached several players who earned all-conference and all-region honors while helping elevate the overall performance of the program.
Before joining SEMO, Stolz, a Wauwatosa, Wisconsin native, served as a volunteer assistant coach at Marquette University during a season in which the Golden Eagles reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament and maintained a top-25 national ranking. There, he worked closely with a roster that featured five All-BIG EAST honorees and an AVCA All-American. He contributed to in-game strategy, statistical analysis, and middle blocker development while also assisting with team logistics and practice planning.
Stolz began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Averett University, where he earned an MBA in Leadership. He also holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lakeland University, where he was a member of the men's volleyball team. Stolz owned the Lakeland career kills record (895) until this past season, and he received All-Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League First Team honors in each of his final two seasons as a Muskie.
Savannah Moore joined the Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball program in May of 2024.
"We are really excited to have Coach Moore join our program," Long said of Moore. "She helped start and build a program at Young Harris which saw a record-setting season in 2023. Our athletes are going to truly benefit from her expertise on and off the court."
Moore served as the assistant coach for the Young Harris women's volleyball program under head coach Jenny Michael since their inaugural 2020 season. Moore's responsibilities included coordinating recruits for their campus visits, organizing detailed practice schedules and evaluating statistical data and tapes of competition matches to provide feedback and strategy.
In only their fourth season, Moore aided in taking the Mountain Lions to their first-ever Conference Carolinas Tournament in November of 2023. The team pieced together a 10-17 overall record and a 7-10 conference record.
In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, the Sharpsburg, Ga. native also served as an evaluator and coach for SRVA High Performance from 2021 to 2024. In her day-to-day responsibilities, Moore evaluated individual knowledge, skills, and strengths and assigned team positions to maximize talent areas all while selecting athletes for High Performance team and camps.
"I am so excited to be joining the Queens coaching staff," Moore said. "I want to thank Coach Long for this amazing opportunity to work with some incredible athletes. I can't wait to get in the gym and help this program reach new heights. Go Royals!"
Moore earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Troy University in 2020 and starred as a middle blocker for the Trojans. Moore ranks third all-time at Troy in career solo blocks (49) and career blocks per set (0.82).
